This card is specifically designed for frequent site visitors without any particular construction skills or necessary site experience in any field. If you are an estate agent or developer who regularly visits construction sites in your job, you should have a Site Visitor CSCS card to prove that you are aware of the health and safety behaviours of your environment.
Any applicants must first successfully complete a construction skills health and safety test to demonstrate a general understanding of the operational practises and precautions undertaken whilst on a construction site.
A yellow card will be issued which is valid for 5 years and lets the construction workers and contractors know that you hold the minimum level of competence in construction site safety. Holding this qualification will also significantly reduce the amount of site initiation you need to be given by the site manager.
It should be noted that some additional site-specific health and safety training may also be required at the site manager’s discretion.
The issue of this card does not relieve the site managers from their legal obligations to ensure the health, safety and welfare of people entering or operating on their sites.
